Earth Pigment Paintings

Recently I have been working with earth pigments, foraging for rocks and other natural materials to create my own paints. his process creates vibrant‭, ‬earth-toned colors that reflect the‭ ‬beauty and unique hues of our desert surroundings‭. ‬By using earth pigments‭, ‬I aim to infuse my work with a sense of place while‭ ‬reducing the environmental impact commonly associated with synthetic paints‭.‬ Using these handmade paints, I create surreal imagery and landscapes that explore how people relate to nature. My watercolors are mounted on wood panels shaped like different topographies, directly taken from the rocks used to make the paint. Additionally, I am illustrating a tarot deck utilizing this process called Earthbound Tarot, featuring 78 unique illustrations that incorporate the landscapes where I forage for rocks. In all of my work, I aim to create a strong connection between the process and the end result.
